Off the ice

We went to Charlottesville for an ice skating birthday party for one of Nicholas' friends.  I was reminded, again, how much I hate ice skating, so I did one turn around the rink and was more than happy to be done.  Grace and Rita skated for a good long while, and I think one of them was even working on skating backwards...but I might have been seeing things ;-).  Nicholas was done very quickly and we hung out while he watched people playing video games and sports TV.  Go figure.

After the ice skating excursion, Aunt Jeanne, Grace, Rita, and I headed to Waynesboro on the way back to Lexington for some shopping.  We had an interesting few minutes when my gas tank went to reading totally empty, although we found later that there was still over a gallon left, even after all of the bars on my tank gauge dropped out.  Shopping was fun, and I found my bridesmaid gifts for a steal.

Then headed home for some more amazing Uncle David cooking--shrimp, scallops, couscous, green beans, leftover asparagus, and a cold veggie/salad tray.  SOOOO good.  Plus chocolate ice cream!  I think it made Nicholas a little loopy....
