Getting up an extra half hour early this morning was hard! I know once I establish a routine (and once I no longer am doing both morning and afternoon duty and therefore can arrive a little later) it will be much easier, but I woke up a lot last night and so I was still pretty tired when my alarm went off this morning. I was not only physically tired but emotional, and was fighting tears all the way to work.
Then, after rushing around to get to school by 7, the door wasn't even opened until 7:25, so we stood out on the sidewalk again, waiting to be let in, feeling more and more nervous as time went on. Finally made it into our classrooms 5 minutes before we had to report for duty. After duty, running back to the classroom to find my students already inside and ready to go. YIKES!
The actual instructional time during the day went fairly well. We did a lot of getting to know you and unpacking and pretests, so the time passed quickly. Dismissal, however, was a totally different story. With a new campus and many more new kids than ever before, the dismissal took over 90 minutes! It seemed like total chaos.
Hoping and praying tomorrow goes more smoothly. It has to, after how crazy today was, right? Thankful that God is good and faithful even when the world goes nuts!
