Monday madness

The last mad dash to get Jonathan packed and his room cleared out before we leave on Tuesday.  Before we got started, I made peanut butter fudge for sustenance throughout the day, and because I knew it would take a long while to set.  Amazing the workout fudge making can give your arms!

After that was complete, we embarked on the mission for the day.  Lots of packing, hauling, sorting, weighing, repacking, dusting, shredding, running errands...you name it, we did it!  We did take a break in the middle to eat lunch at Brioso's in Clemson, which was delicious, but unfortunately we chose a table right under the A/C and were cold.  Jonathan especially was freezing, which is totally unusual for him--he's such a hot-natured guy.  So, we didn't stick around for long, but definitely enjoyed the delicious meal anyway.

Stayed for dinner at the Rollins.  Ashley was over again too, and we had some delicious chili compliments of Stephen who made two different types...one with turkey and one with beef.  They were both excellent, but I must say I preferred the beef.  There was also cornbread muffins and for dessert, the fudge and some orange cakeballs Stephen had made...tasted just like an orange creamsicle!  So yummy!

The evening was hard.  Although I had broken down in tears during the afternoon before lunch, it was far worse that night as we started wrapping up the job and the reality of Jonathan leaving started really setting in. Fortunately, I have one very compassionate and understanding boyfriend who patiently comforted me and let me cry as long as I needed to.  Eventually, though, we did have to get back to work and finished up packing the luggage for the trip before I headed home.
