Well, if ever a Wednesday could be called wacky, I think today would qualify. Plans changed almost moment-by-moment. And yet, it was still a good day.
I played Scrabble with the boys this morning while I made curtains for my apartment. My poor window has such sad surroundings where previous curtain fixtures have been removed. Fortunately, when one of my friends let me have her futon, she also gave me her extra fabric so I can make coordinating curtains.
After that, I went and worked out with Jess as we train for the 5K on Saturday. I didn't want to overdo it with planning to run tomorrow morning, so I just rode the recumbent bicycle for a half hour. Unwisely, however, I chose to use a high resistance trail, so my legs felt like rubber when I got off. So much for a light workout! Light on cardio, maybe, but not work!
Back home again to put dinner together for the family. Made a family favorite: Western Shrimp Noodle Casserole. Its a hodge-podge of all of the comfort foods: noodles, cheese, shrimp, mushrooms, corn. It sounds weird when you write it out like that, but I promise, it does taste good!
Then spent the afternoon hanging out with a friend and watching The Court Jester (which was fantastic!), and enjoying an AMAZING dinner (way better than the one I made). Plus knitting and chatting along the way. Definitely a great way to spend the afternoon.
In the evening, I went to coffee with Alli, Ronnie, and Jonathan. This was the "original" plan for the day that kept getting switched. Who would think that someone would want to go the Masters rather than have coffee with me? I certainly wouldn't ;-). Just kidding. Anyway, coffee was great except that two of us couldn't drink caffeine; so I'm not really sure if we can still call it coffee? Hmm. I'll have to think about that one.
Then, we went to Cross Impact, which was really cool. I'd never been to Clemson's Cross Impact, and it was great to go and listen to Mr. Campbell's teaching on Epaphroditus (loved it!) and be a part of Alli's power group. Good chat afterward, too.
Finally, home for (thankfully) a full night of sleep. (I hadn't slept well pretty much all break until then). But I was super thankful to finally get at least 7 hours of shut eye before running tomorrow morning!
