Really great sermon today by Pastor Jay on the Biblical roles of marriage. He spoke both to the husband and wife's roles in the sermon, outline the husband as a servant leader (as expressed throughout Scripture, both Old and New Testaments) and a wife as a strong helper (throughout both testaments as well). I have heard sermons on submission and on husbands loving their wives as Christ loved the church, but I think this is the most powerful I have listened to where it showed both at their strength, exposed the weakness that sin has created, and demonstrated Christ's power to redeem with a marriage. It was cool.
By the way, the whole series You.Me.We that our church is doing on marriage and relationships is really good. If you're interested to listening to any of the sermons, you can click here. It will take you to the series site on our church webpage. It is updated weekly with the new sermons. Anyway, I love the idea of being a strong helper in my future marriage.
Praying that God helps me to become this kind of woman who can fill
this kind of role as this kind of wife :-).
