Glorious Day

Today Pastor Jay preached about taking out the trash in relationships...learning to deal with problems with forgiveness as Christ as forgiven us.  He closed the time with a gospel presentation, during which several people responded.  For them, today was their own Glorious Day.  (I wrote this song several weeks ago but hadn't put it on the blog yet.  It seemed appropriate given the context of the sermon today).

Glorious Day

Oh there was a day (there was a day)
When He made His name glorious (He is glorious)
He stood in my place (with such love on His face)
And paid for my sin.

And then on my day (I can truthfully say)
He showed himself glorious (oh so glorious)
For I chose to obey (chose just to pray)
And welcome Him in

(Chorus)
Now He lives, Oh yes He lives,
His spirit indwelling me
The love that is His, the hope that He gives
I want all the world to see
For He came, bearing our shame
That glorious day

And there’s coming a day (when it is none can say)
That He’ll make His name glorious (He is glorious)
He’ll turn the next page (usher in a new age)
Where He alone will be King

For on that great day (the clouds will give way)
All will see He is glorious (oh so glorious)
The saints will awake (He’s coming back for our sake)
And we’ll all serve the King.

For He Lives, Oh yes He lives
In His presence we all will be
The love that is His, the hope that He gives
On that day all the world will see
He’ll be here, wipe away every tear
That glorious day

And I pray there’s a day (somehow and someway)
When He’ll make his name glorious (He is glorious)
You’ll choose to obey (choose just to pray)
And welcome Him in

So please on that day (when you hear of the Way)
Let Him show Himself glorious (oh so glorious)
Surrender your will (while there is time still)
And let new life begin

For He’ll live, Oh yes He’ll live
His Spirit indwelling you
The love that is His, the hope that He gives
You’ll find out that both are true
The angels will sing, all of Heaven will ring
That glorious day

(musical interlude)

For He lives, Oh yes He lives
His spirit indwelling us
The love that is His, the hope that He gives
Before we return to dust
Let us share, make the whole world aware
Of the glorious day.
